Throughout the one-month program, students participated in a blend of academic learning and fun extracurricular activities. Each morning, they studied Vietnamese, math, and sign language in a friendly and loving environment. Beyond the classroom, they enjoyed activities like painting, sports, crafts, and games — helping them grow in confidence, teamwork, and self-expression.
A special highlight this summer was the arrival of many new students, bringing fresh energy and making this the most attended summer at CDS to date. The way students quickly bonded and supported one another reflected the inclusive and nurturing spirit of the center.
The impact of this summer is best expressed in the students’ own words:
“This summer was amazing! My favorite part was visiting the Da Nang Museum with my friends and teachers. I’m proud to be Deaf and want to keep learning at CDS.”
“This was my first summer class, and I loved it. Usually, summers at home are boring and lonely. I’m grateful my mom let me join — I made friends, learned new things, and had fun. CDS helped me spend less time on my phone. Today is the last day, but I’ll remember it forever.”
“I loved learning history by visiting the museum with my classmates. I also enjoyed martial arts — it taught me how to protect myself from danger.”
These students receive an elevated learning experience because of the intentional planning and hard work of the staff as well as the generous support from donors.
