On June 5th, Deaf students from three schools in Vietnam (Phu Ninh, Hoi An, and Da Nang) had the opportunity to meet again at the 2024 summer camp held for 2 days and 1 night. With the camp theme “The Beauty of Nature”, the children camped in a small forest, participated in many different activities and experienced sleeping in a tent in the middle of nature. Summer camp is not only for Deaf children but is also an opportunity for siblings or parents of Deaf children to strengthen family bonds. Summer Camp 2024 was truly memorable for the students of the three schools. There were games, activities, and performances.

“We would like to acknowledge the preparations for the 2024 summer camp of the three schools. Mr. Jeff and Ms. Nancy were very happy to see everyone again. Last night, I saw that after the program ended, students from all three schools chatted a lot with each other. We would like to thank all the teachers, parents, and volunteers for creating favorable conditions for children to participate in this camp” – Ms. Nancy – deputy director of CDS

“I really like it when students from three schools can meet each other at this camp. Fashion, dance, drama… everything is wonderful. When participating in activities, all three schools are mixed without distinguishing students from each school. I liked the “Treasure Hunt” activity the most because all members of the group worked together to find the answer. It wasn’t important whether we won or lost.” – Phu Ninh students

“Participating in the CDS summer camp and seeing the development of the students each year makes me happy. I was very proud to see the progress of the teachers and students using sign language. I hope that in the coming years, our school will have enough capacity to organize camps like this and invite CDS and Phu Ninh to participate. Thank you CDS for creating a useful playground for students, teachers and parents to have fun.” Ms. Lien – HAB Manager

“This is a very meaningful activity for Deaf students because they can express themselves. At home, I thought my children wouldn’t be able to do anything, but I came here and saw them confidently participating in the activities. I feel proud of their performing arts.” Phu Ninh’s parents
